Announcing the First Patons Knit-Along! |
 |
Exclusively at the Patons Blog, we're excited to introduce the first Patons Knit-Along. We're all knitting this beautiful fair isle tam. The tam is available as a free download, only on the Patons Blog. The Patons Bloggers will be knitting the tam and posting about their process, and we want you to share your projects too!
Fair isle is an opportunity to do amazing things with color. We'll be experimenting with color combinations and exploring the possibilites of fair isle. If you've been wanting to try fair isle or experiment with color, this is a great opportunity to try with knitters there to support you each step of the way.
Did we mention this tam makes a great gift? It's fast, easy, and most importantly, fun to make! Come knit-along with us on the Patons Blog!
Here’s what you’ll need to knit the Fair Isle Tam :
Patons Classic Wool (100g/3.5 oz; 223yd/205m)
5 shades – 1 ball each
Set of 5 size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) double pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. St markers.
Note: Set of 5 needles works best for even stitch distribution and keeping work in quadrants. |

Wintertime; it’s almost here, one of my kids favourite times of the year! Not only do they enjoy the toboggan rides and family snowball fights but they also can’t wait to see what type of funky scarves their mom is going to attempt to knit them this year.
As the Executive Assistant with Patons, not only do I have the pleasure of assisting the executive team with the daily operations, I’m also exposed to the new innovative products that we produce in such fun bright colours. This is what sparked my interest to learn the craft of knitting. Even though I have only somewhat mastered the task, it makes me smile to hear my daughter’s giggles as they march off to school wearing their hand crafted garments and the requests they get from their friends to have me attempt to make scarves for them as well.
