One of the exciting things about working in the design studio at Patons® is that we never really know what's coming next. When we were told we'd be putting out a book of Sock Monkeys the designers were thrilled!
The design meeting for this book was so much fun, we came up with enough ideas to make a whole series of Sock Monkey books. In the end we stuck with the classic Sock Monkey, (being sure to include instructions for crochet versions as well), added a few Monkeys with a little 'flair' and designed some friends for them to hang out with in the Jungle.
Normally, when people say they have a 'pile of work' on their desk to get through, they aren't talking about Monkey arms and legs to be stuffed and attached to bodies, eyes and nostrils to be embroidered, and in some cases, hair-dos to do - but in the days leading up to the photo shoot, this was the case with my desk. If only I had a barrel to keep them all in! I loved working on this book from beginning to end - and I cannot wait to see the ways in which knitters and crocheters will personalize them & make them truly unique! |
