Size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) crochet hook for Ski Band and Bag, size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook for Scarf or size needed to obtain tension. 2 metal macrame rings 6 ins [15 cm] diameter for Bag.

Tension
Ski Band and Bag: 19 dc and 9 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with 4 mm hook.
Scarf: 16 dc and 7 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with 5 mm hook.

Instructions
SKI BAND
With smaller hook, ch 31.
Foundation row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 dc in each of next 4 ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Ch 3. Turn. 29 sts.
1st row: Miss first dc. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. *Ch 1. Miss next ch 1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 4 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Ch 3. Turn.
Rep last row until work from beg measures 19 ins [48 cm] when slightly stretched omitting turning ch at end of last row. Fasten off. Sew center back seam.

Flap: With RS of work facing, fold Band flat and mark beg and end of center 20 rows along top edge of Band.
1st row: Join yarn with ss at first marker and working into sides of dc along Band edge, ch 4. *1 dc into side of next dc of Band edge. Ch 1. Rep from * 17 times more. 1 dc where second marker was placed. Ch 4. Turn.
2nd row: Miss first dc, next ch 1 sp and next dc. 1 dc in next ch 1 sp. *Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 dc in next ch 1 sp. Rep from * across to last dc and ch 4 turning ch. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 4. Turn.
Rep last row 15 times more (4 dc rem), ending last row with ch 3. Turn.
Next row: Miss first dc. (Yoh and draw up a loop in next dc. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Yoh and draw up a loop in 4th ch of turning ch. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook. Yoh and draw through all 4 loops on hook. Fasten off.

Tassel: Cut a piece of cardboard 4 ins [10 cm] wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 35 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through a needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops ½ inch [1 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew tassel to end of flap.

SCARF
With MC and larger hook, ch 36.
Foundation row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 dc in each of next 4 ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Ch 3. Turn. 34 sts.
1st row: Miss first dc. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. *Ch 1. Miss next ch 1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 4 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Join A, ch 3. Turn.
Last row forms pat.

With A, work 3 rows pat ending last row with join B. Ch 3. Turn.

Fringe: Cut 10 ins lengths of MC, A and B. Taking 4 strands tog, knot into fringe in every other st along ends of Scarf alternating MC, A and B throughout as illustrated. Trim fringe evenly.

BAG (Make 2 pieces alike).
With MC and smaller hook, ch 46.

Fold last 2 rows of Bag to inside and sew over Handles to form casing. With MC, sew Bag tog, beg and ending at last MC row of stripe pat.

Fringe: Cut lengths of MC 6 ins [15 cm] long. Taking 4 strands tog, knot into fringe across lower edge of Bag in each corner, then at every point where ch-1 sp occurs in pat. Trim fringe evenly.
