Afghan: Approx 44 ins x 44 ins [112 x 112 cm].
Pillows: 16 x16 ins [40.5 x 40.5 cm].

MC: (77115 New Denim) 5 balls
A: (77117 Worn Denim) 2 balls
B: (77116 Denim Marl) 1 ball

Pillow A
(77116 Denim Marl) 3 balls

Pillow B
(77115 New Denim) 3 balls

Size 4½ mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles and 4½ mm (U.S. 7) circular knitting needle 36 ins [90 cm] long or size needed to obtain tension. 2 pillow forms 16 inch [40.5 cm] square. 6 buttons for pillow A.

TENSION
Afghan: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.
Pillow A:18 sts and 28 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pattern.
Pillow B: 21 sts and 32 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pattern.

INSTRUCTIONS
Afghan
Note: When working in Color Block technique, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. Start new colors at appropriate points. To change colors, twist the two colors around each other where they meet, on WS, to avoid a hole.

Strip I (make 2)
With pair of needles and A, cast on 31 sts.
With MC, cast on 9 sts. 40 sts.
***1st row: (RS). With MC, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1. With A, (P1. K1) 15 times. P1.
2nd row: With A, K31. With MC, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1.
3rd row: With C, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1. With A, (P1. K1) 15 times. P1.
4th row: With A, K31. With C, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1.
Rep last 4 rows 10 times more, then 1st and 2nd rows once.

Proceed as follows:
**1st row: (RS). With C, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1. With MC, knit dec 2 sts evenly across last 31 sts. 38 sts.
2nd row: With MC, (P1. K1) 14 times. P1. With C, (K1. P1) 4 times. K1.
Last row forms seed st pat.
3rd and 4th rows: With C, (K1. P1) 19 times. K1.
5th row: With C, seed st across 9 sts. With MC, seed st across 29 sts.
6th row: As 2nd row.

7th to 10th rows: As 3rd to 6th rows, changing colors as before.**

1st row: (RS). With B, knit, inc 2 sts evenly across. 31 sts.
2nd row: Knit.
3rd row: (P1. K1) 15 times. P1.
Rep last 2 rows 21 times more, then 2nd row once.****

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth, leaving cloth to dry.

Sew Strips, using flat seam, in following sequence: I, II, I, II, III.

Top and bottom edging: With RS of work facing, MC and circular needle, pick up and knit 179 sts across top of Blanket.
With MC, work 1 row in seed st pat.
With C, work 2 rows in seed st pat.
With MC, work 2 rows in seed st pat.
Rep last 4 rows once more. Cast off in pat.

Side edging: With RS of work facing, MC and circular needle, pick up and knit 187 sts along side edge of Blanket (including Top and Bottom edging).
With MC, work 1 row in seed st pat.
With C, work 2 rows in seed st pat.
With MC, work 2 rows in seed st pat. Rep last 4 rows once more. Cast off in pat.

Pillow A
Note: Pillow is made in one piece, folded along fold lines and sides are sewn tog.

Cast on 72 sts.
Button band: Work 5 rows in garter st.
Work 12 rows in stocking st, ending with WS facing for next row.
Next row: (Fold line). Knit.
Work 10 rows in stocking st.
Proceed as follows:
**1st row: (RS). K6. *P5. K5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. K6.
2nd row: P6. *P5. K5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. P6.
3rd and 4th rows: As 1st and 2nd rows.
5th row: As 1st row.
6th row: Purl.
7th row: K6. *K5. P5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. K6.
8th row: P6. *K5. P5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. P6.***
9th and 10th rows: As 7th and 8th rows.
11th row: As 7th row.
12th row: Purl. **
These 12 rows form Basketweave pattern.

Rep from ** to ** 6 times more.
Beg with knit row, work 10 rows in stocking st.
Next row: (RS). (Fold line). Purl.
Beg with a purl row work 9 rows in stocking st.

Work from ** to ** 6 times, then from ** to *** once, ending with RS facing for next row.

Next row: (Buttonhole row). (RS). K11. (P1. Cast off next 3 sts. K6.) 6 times. K1.
Next row: P6. (K1. Cast on 3 sts over cast off sts. K1. P5) 6 times. P6.
Next row: K6. *K5. P5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. K6.
Next row: P6. *K5. P5. Rep from * to last 6 sts. P6.
Cast off.

FINISHING
Pin pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth, leaving cloth to dry.

Fold Pillow along fold lines. Sew sides of Pillow with Button band under the Buttonhole Band. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes. Insert pillow form.

Tassel: (make 4). Cut a piece of cardboard 4½ ins [11 cm] wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 30 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through a needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops ¾ inch [2 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew tassels at each corner of Pillow.

Pillow B
Front and Back (make alike)
Cast on 75 sts.
Knit 7 rows, inc 8 sts evenly across last row. 83 sts.
1st row: (RS). K5. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last 6 sts. P1. K5.
2nd row: Knit.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 14½ ins [37 cm], ending with RS facing for next row.
Knit 7 rows, dec 8 sts evenly across first row. 75 sts. Cast off knitways (WS).

FINISHING
Block pieces to 16 x 16 ins [40.5 x 40.5 cm].
Sew 3 sides of Back and front tog. Insert Pillow form Sew opening closed.

Tassel: (make 4). Work as given for Pillow A.
