Patons® Classic Wool
(100 g/3.5 oz)
Main Color (MC) (Purple) 1 ball
Contrast A (Red) 1 ball

Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION
20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

K = Knit.
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together.
Rem = Remaining.
RS = Right side.
St(s) = Stitches.
Tog = Together.

INSTRUCTIONS
Small Petals (make 5)
With MC, cast on 10 sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: K3. (K2tog) twice. K3.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: K2. (K2tog) twice. K2.
5th row: K1. (K2tog) twice. K1.
6th row: (K2tog) twice. Cast off rem 2 sts.

Medium Petals (make 6)
With A, cast on 14 sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: K5. (K2tog) twice. K5.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: K4. (K2tog) twice. K4.
5th row: Knit.
6th row: K3. (K2tog) twice. K3.
7th row: K2. (K2tog) twice. K2.
8th row: K1. (K2tog) twice. K1.
9th row: (K2tog) twice. Cast off rem 2 sts.

Large Petals (make 3 with MC, make 2 with A)
Cast on 18 sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: K7. (K2tog) twice. K7.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: K6. (K2tog) twice. K6.
5th row: Knit.
6th row: K5. (K2tog) twice. K5.
7th row: Knit.
8th row: K4. (K2tog) twice. K4.
9th row: Knit.

FINISHING
Sew cast off ends of each group of petals tog tightly (small, medium and large) overlapping petals slightly to form spirals and having cast on edges as outer edge of petals. Ends of petals will curl.
Sew 3 layers of petals tog placing medium layer on top of large layer and small layer on top of medium layer.
