MEASUREMENT
Size: 23 x 28 ins [58.5 x 71 cm].

MATERIALS
Patons Canadiana
(100 g/3.5 oz) or
Patons Décor (100 g/3.5 oz)
Main Color (MC) (Teal) 4 balls
Contrast A (Grey ) 2 balls

Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION
16 sts and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with 2 strands of yarn in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS
Note
: When working from charts, use separate balls of yarn for each area of color in the design. To change colors, twist the two colors around each other where they meet on WS, to avoid a hole.
Note: Rug is worked with 2 strands of yarn throughout.
With 2 strands of MC cast on 86 sts.
1st row: (RS). K2. *P2. K2. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: P2. *K2. P2. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: As 2nd row.
4th row: As 1st row.
Rep last 4 rows 4 times more, then 1st and 2nd rows once, ending with RS facing for next row.
Next row: With MC, (P2. K2) twice. Work 1st row of Chart I, reading row from right to left. With MC, (K2. P2) twice.
Next row: With MC, (K2. P2) twice. Work 2nd row of Chart I, reading row from left to right. With MC, (P2. K2) twice.
Chart I is now in position.
Work Chart I until row 24 of Chart I is complete.
Rep 21st to 24th rows of Chart I 18 times more.
Next row: (RS). With MC, (P2. K2) twice. Work 1st row of Chart II, reading row from right to left. With MC, (K2. P2) twice.
Next row: With MC, (K2. P2) twice. Work 2nd row of Chart II, reading row from left to right. With MC, (P2. K2) twice.
Chart II is now in position.
Work Chart II to end of Chart.
Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). With MC, P2. *K2. P2. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: K2. *P2. K2. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: As 2nd row.
4th row: As 1st row.
Rep last 4 rows 4 times more, then 1st and 2nd rows once.
Cast off in pat.

This pattern can be completed with one of the following Patons yarns:
