Sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension. Size 4 mm (U.S. 6) circular knitting needle 36 ins [90 cm] long. Cable needle. 2 stitch holders.

TENSION
20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

ABBREVIATIONS
Tw2L = knit into back of 2nd st on left hand needle, then knit into front of first st, slipping both sts off needle together.
T4L = slip next 3 sts onto a cable needle and leave at front of work. P1, then K3 from cable needle.
T4R = slip next st onto a cable needle and leave at back of work. K3, then P1 from cable needle.
C6F = slip next 3 sts onto a cable needle and leave at front of work. K3, then K3 from cable needle.
C6B = slip next 3 sts onto a cable needle and leave at back of work. K3, then K3 from cable needle.
MB = [(K1. P1) twice. K1] all in next st. slip 4th, 3rd, 2nd and first sts separately over 5th st. One st remains. Bobble complete.

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessar y for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

POCKET LININGS (Make 2)
With larger needles cast on 25 sts and work 5 ins [12.5 cm] in stocking st, ending with RS facing for next row. Leave these sts on a spare needle.

FRONT
**With smaller needles cast on 99 (107- 115-125) sts.

Armhole shaping: Cast off 6 (7-9-10) sts beg next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of needle on next and following 5 (7-8-10) alt rows. 76 (78-80-84) sts.
Cont even until armhole measures 10 rows less than Front to beg of shoulder shaping, ending with RS facing for next row.
Neck shaping: Next row: K28 (29- 29-31) (neck edge). Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows, then on following 2 alt rows. 22 (23-23- 25) sts.
Work 1 row even, thus ending with right side facing for next row.
Shoulder shaping: Cast off 11 (11-11- 12) sts beg next row. Work 1 row even.
Cast off rem 11 (12-12-13) sts.
With RS of work facing slip next 20 (20-22-22) sts from spare needle onto a st holder. Join yarn to rem sts and knit to end of row.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows, then on following 2 alt rows. 22 (23-23- 25) sts.
Work 2 rows even, ending with WS facing for next row.
Shoulder shaping: Cast off 11 (11-11- 12) sts beg next row. Work 1 row even.
Cast off rem 11 (12-12-13) sts.

FINISHING
Neckband: Sew shoulder seams. With RS of work facing and smaller circular needle, beg at center V, pick up and knit 46 (46-50-50) sts up right front neck edge and 8 sts down right back neck edge. K20 (20-22-22) sts from back st holder dec 1 st at center. Pick up and knit 8 sts up left back neck edge and 46 (46-50-50) sts down left front neck edge to center V. 127 (127-137- 137) sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle, proceed as follows:
Work 1¼ ins [3 cm] in seed st pat as given for Front ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off in pat. Lap RS of band over left and sew in position as illustrated.
Armbands: With RS of work facing and smaller needles pick up and knit 89 (91-95-99) sts evenly along armhole edge. Work 1¼ ins [3 cm] in seed st pat as given for Front ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off in pat.
Pocket Borders: With RS of work facing and smaller needles, knit across 25 sts from pocket st holder. Work 1¼ ins [3 cm] in seed st pat as given for Front ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off in pat. Sew pocket borders in position on RS and pocket linings in position on WS.
Sew side seams. Pin to measurements and cover with a damp cloth leaving to dry on garment.
