MEASUREMENT
Approx 48 x 70 ins [122 x 177 cm]

MATERIALS
Patons Canadiana (100 g/3.5 oz)
or Patons Décor (100 g/3.5 oz)
14 balls

Size 6 mm (U.S. J or 10) afghan crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION
17 sts and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.

INSTRUCTIONS
PANEL (Make 5). Ch 22.
Work 5 rows basic afghan crochet.
6th row: Pick up 22 sts. Work off 11 loops. Ch 3. 1 dc in first ch of ch 3 - bobble made. Work off rem 11 loops.
7th row: Pick up 22 sts. Work off 10 loops. Bobble. Work off 2 loops. Bobble. Work off rem 10 loops.
8th row: As 6th row.
1st to 8th rows of chart are now complete.
Work 9th to 75th row from chart.
Work 12th to 75th row from chart.
Work 12th to 53rd row from chart.
Work 1st to 13th row from chart.
Fasten off.
Border: 1st rnd: Working around entire panel and with RS of work facing, join yarn in lower right hand corner and work 1 sc in corner st. *Work 1 sc in each row along side edge (194 sts). Ch 1 for corner. 1 sc in each st to end of row. Ch 1 for corner. Rep from * once. Sl st in first st.
2nd rnd: Ch 2. 1 dc in each of next 2 sts. *4 dc in next st, draw up last loop and drop from hook, insert hook in top of first dc, catch dropped loop, draw through dc and tighten - popcorn made. 1 dc in each of next 5 dc.* Rep from * to * to last 5 sts before corner. Popcorn in next st. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Ch 3 for corner. Miss ch 1 for corner. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Popcorn in next st. (1 dc in each of next 5 sts. Popcorn in next st) twice. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Ch 3. Miss ch 1 for corner. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Rep from * to * to last 4 sts before corner. Popcorn in next st. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts. Miss ch 1 for corner. Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Popcorn in next st. (1 dc in each of next 5 sts. Popcorn in next st) twice. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts. Ch 3. Miss ch 1 for corner. Sl st in top of ch 2.
3rd rnd: Ch 2. 1 dc in next st. **[*Miss next st. 1 dc in next st. 1 dc in missed st.* Rep from * to * to 2 sts before corner. 1 dc in each of next 2 sts. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in ch-3 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 sts. (Miss next st. 1 dc in next st. 1 dc in missed st) 9 times. 2 dc in next st. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in ch 3 sp].** 1 dc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from ** to ** once more. Sl st in top of ch 2.
4th rnd: Ch 2. *Working through back loop only, work 1 dc in each st to corner ch. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in corner ch sp. Rep from * to end of rnd. Sl st in first st. Fasten off.

FINISHING: With RS facing, sew panels together.
Fringe: Cut 12 inch [31 cm] length of yarn. Taking 6 strands tog, knot into fringe along short ends of afghan. Trim fringe evenly.
