MATERIALS
Patons Canadiana
(100 g/3.5 oz)
or Patons Décor (100 g/3.5 oz)
Main Color (MC) (Lt Blue) 4 balls
Contrast A (White) 1 ball
Contrast B (Red) 1 ball
Contrast C (Mauve) 1 ball
Contrast D (Gold) 1 ball
Contrast E (Royal Blue) 1 ball
Contrast F (Med Blue) 1 ball
Contrast G (Aqua ) 1 ball
Small amount of Contrast H (Navy)

Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) circular knitting needle and pair of size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION
20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS
Note: When working from Charts, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. Start new colors at appropriate points. To change colors, twist the two colors around each other where they meet, on WS, to avoid a hole.
With circular needle and MC, cast on 170 sts. Do not join.
Working back and forth across needle, work 8 rows in stocking st.
Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). With MC, K83. Work 1st row of Chart I, reading row from right to left. With MC, K13.
2nd row: With MC, P13. Work 2nd row of Chart I, reading row from left to right. With MC, P83.
Chart I is now in position.
Cont working Chart I until row 80 of chart has been worked.
Next row: (RS). With MC, K13. Work 1st row of Chart II, reading row from right to left. Work 81st row of Chart I. With MC, K14.
Next row: With MC, P14. Work 82nd row of Chart I. Work 2nd row of Chart II, reading row from left to right. With MC, P13.
Charts I and II are now in position.
Cont working Charts I and II until row 92 of Chart I has been worked.
Next row: With MC, K13. Work appropriate row of Chart II. With MC, K88.
Cont working Chart II until row 82 of chart has been worked.
Next row: (RS). With MC, K13. Work 83rd row of Chart II.
Work 1st row of Chart III reading row from right to left.
With MC, K11.
Next row: With MC, P11. Work 2nd row of Chart III reading row from left to right. Work 84th row of Chart II. With MC, P13.
Charts II and III are now in position.
Cont working Charts II and III until row 93 of Chart II has been worked.
Next row: (WS). With MC, P11. Work appropriate row of Chart III. With MC, P82.
Cont working Chart III to end of chart.
With MC, beg with a purl row, work 7 rows even in stocking st. Cast off.
Top or Bottom Border
With G, cast on 10 sts.
**Knit 12 rows (garter st).
With F, knit 12 rows.**
Rep from ** to ** until Border (when slightly stretched) measures length to fit across top or bottom of Blanket, ending on a 12th row of pat. Cast off. Sew Border in position.

Side Border
With F, cast on 10 sts.
**Knit 12 rows (garter st).
With G, work 12 rows garter st.**
Rep from ** to ** until Border (when slightly stretched) measures length to fit across side of Blanket, ending on a 12th row of pat. Cast off. Sew Border in position.
Outer Top or Bottom Edging: With RS of work facing, circular needle and E, pick up and knit 175 sts across top or bottom of Blanket. Knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).
Outer Side Edging:With RS of work facing, circular needle and C, pick up and knit 213 sts along each side of Blanket.
Knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).
