MEASUREMENTS
Mug Cozy: Approx 10 ins [25.5 cm] around x 4 ins [10 cm] high.
Tea Cozy: Approx 21 ins [53.5 cm] around x 8½ ins [21.5 cm] high.
French Coffee Press Cozy: Approx 12 ins [30.5 cm] around x 7 ins [18 cm] high.

MATERIALS
Patons® Decor (100 g /3.5 oz; 190 m/208 yds)
2 Mug Cozies, Tea Cozy and French Coffee
Press Cozy
Contrast A 87524 (Rich New Green) 1 ball
Contrast B 87523 (New Green) 1 ball

Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Size 3.25 mm (U.S. D or 3) crochet hook for buttons.

GAUGE
12 sts and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger hook in pat.

STITCH GLOSSARY
Dcfp= Yoh and draw up a loop around post of stitch 2 rows below from front to back. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.

INSTRUCTIONS
MUG COZY
With A or B and larger hook, ch 28.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch across. Turn. 27 sc.
**2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc across. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Dcfp around next sc 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Dcfp around next sc 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
4th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st across. Turn.
5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
6th row: As 4th row.
Last 2 rows form pat.**
Join B or A. Beg with a RS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 4 ins [10 cm] ending on a RS row. Do not fasten off. Cont as follows:
Side edging: Work 2 sc down side edge. *Ch 4. Miss ¾ inch [2 cm] along side edge.*
Work sc down side to 1 inch [2.5 cm] before next corner. Rep from * to *. Work 2 sc down side to corner. Fasten off.
Buttons (make 2): With A or B and smaller hook, ch 2.
Note: Join all rnds with sl st in first sc.
1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join. 12 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sc. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook – sc2tog made. Rep from * 5 times more. 6 sts.
Fasten off, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts. Sew on buttons to correspond to button loops.

TEA COZY (make 2 pieces alike).
With B and larger hook, ch 31.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch across. Turn. 30 sc.
Work from ** to ** as given for Mug Cozy.
Join A. Beg with a RS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 6½ ins [16.5 cm], ending on a WS row.
Shape top: 1st row: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. Sc2tog over next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. 21 sts.
2nd and 4th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st across. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp and next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Dcfp around next dcfp 2 rows below. Miss sc behind dcfp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. 12 sts.
6th row: Ch 1. (Sc2tog over next 2 sts) 6 times. Fasten off. Break yarn leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts.
Topper:With A and smaller hook, ch 2.
Work 1st and 2nd rnds as given for Button on Mug Cozy.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * 5 times more. Join. 18 sc.
4th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join.
5th rnd: Ch 1. (Sc2tog over next 2 sts) 9 times. Join. 9 sts.
6th rnd: Ch 1. (Sc2tog over next 2 sts) 4 times. 1 sc in last st. 5 sts. Fasten off, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts. Sew Topper in position.

FRENCH COFFEE PRESS COZY
With A and larger hook, ch 34.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch across. Turn. 33 sts.
Work from ** to ** as given for Mug Cozy.
Join B. Beg with a RS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 7 ins [18 cm], ending on a RS row. Do not fasten off. Cont as follows:
Side edging: Work 2 sc down side edge. *Ch 4. Miss ¾ inch [2 cm] along side edge.*
Work sc down side to beg of center button loop. Rep from * to *. Work sc down to 1 inch [2.5 cm] before next corner. Rep from * to *. Work 2 sc down side to corner. Fasten off.
Buttons (make 3). With A, work as given for Mug Cozy. Sew on buttons to correspond to button loops.
